harvest-window decisions on four continents, and the rain is early in some and late in others

The same question everywhere — cut now or wait — answered differently by the calendar. In Vietnam the answer has already been made for people: rice and aquaculture on low ground under 200–400 mm isolated above 500, with the delta taking water that the mountains shed first. In Pakistan, three days of spell remain over provinces whose canal gates and field drainage are already working around upstream water, and the harvest decision is a routing decision. In India, Saurashtra and Kutch run an easing heavy tail with a flash-flood risk in eight districts, and the new Bay low puts the next heavy window at Sep 18–20 — a forecast with enough lead time to be usable. In Nigeria, rain-driven flooding is already on Benue and Taraba farmland with a dated release on Sep 17 behind it. And in the American Midwest, the deferral to Thursday–Friday is two extra field days that were not on the board yesterday.
