THE STORM

The system weakened to a depression near Nuapada on the Chhattisgarh border, moving north-north-west at about 15 km/h, and is forecast to fade to a well-marked low within a day. Red (more than 20 cm) holds for Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Koraput, heavy rain runs over Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Chhattisgarh through Sep 26, and more than 8,000 people are evacuated.
