A real Mediterranean low did form near the Sicily–Tunisia–Malta corridor with genuine convection, and no agency has designated anything: Italy's civil protection carries yellow only — Sicily, Calabria across four Ionian and Tyrrhenian zones, and Puglia/Salento — for thunderstorms and hydrogeological risk, and the continental forecast experiment carries Level 1 for 100–200 mm in 24 hours, mostly offshore near western Crete, with the explicit line that no substantial spin-up of this vortex is forecast. A separate Level 1 covers the Benelux and north-west Germany for large hail and severe gusts. The only live orange anywhere in Europe is Spain's — Canary Islands heat today, Girona rain tomorrow.
